75% of  last year’s Affiliates rated their peer mentoring experience as EXCELLENT or GOOD

New Students Request a Peer Mentor: New freshman and transfer women (and interested men) who are majoring in engineering, computer science, and information systems can request a peer mentor for their first semester at UMBC.
A short Peer Mentoring Kick-Off Session will be held on August 6th, from 7:30-9:00 for all peer mentoring program participants. Mentors and mentees will meet each other at the event.

Returning Students Volunteer to Be a Peer Mentor: Returning students are invited to volunteer to be a peer mentor to a new freshman or transfer student beginning in the fall or spring semester. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2012-2013 academic year. Volunteers commit to mentoring a new student for one semester! A short Peer Mentoring Kick-Off Session will be held on August 6th, from 7:30-9:00 for all peer mentoring program participants. Mentors and mentees will meet each other at the event.
